Division time

Dividing Blue Bonnet
Now that most of my auriculas have finished blooming, I'm now busy dividing the mother plants. I have nearly 900 mother plants so it takes some time to divide and plant up all the offsets. I enjoy sitting outside on warm days and find it particularly pleasing to sit there and divide my auriculas. This year most of the mother plants have produced a good number of offsets, so next year I should have a good supply of auriculas available, many will be  for sale or exchange for the first time. /Ray

Bernadette a new Swedish Border Auricula

Bernadette is a new border auricula, previously known as seedling 56. She has proved to be very reliable, with a very dark bloom and a good coating of farina on her leaves. She really stands out amongst the other auriculas.

Don Carlos April to June

Don Carlos 11th June
The same Don Carlos auricula has been blooming for almost two months now, I've taken some pictures at intervals to show how it has progressed. It is another of those auriculas where the blooms change colour as they mature. Ray

Sweden's National Day

It's Sweden's National Day today; I've chosen appropriately my own yellow self ‘Fillipa’   and the blue border ‘Blue Jean’ to match the Swedish Colours.

Maggan proudly shows me some pictures

I would like to thank all the club members who came to see me at Hallagården at the weekend; many had travelled long distances to see me, it was very much appreciated./Ray

Karin's auriculas & friends

Karins auricula border watched over by Ville & Alice

Karin lives just west of Stockholm and planted up her auricula border in 2012. Her auriculas are doing very well and have quickly established themselves. 'Molly' a red self is doing particularly well. Karin’s husband d Gert is an accomplished vegetable gardener and grows some fantastic vegetables.
A fine mix of border auriculas
